The Hot Lunch Program runs from October to mid-June. Hot Lunch is served every Thursday, except holidays and PD Days. Please consult your child’s class schedule for field trips, etc. as refunds will not be issued.

Hello Parents!

Thank you for your patience — we’re excited to finally launch this year’s program!

Please take a few moments to read through the important information below. Based on the valuable feedback we received from the spring survey, we’ve made a few changes to improve the Hot Lunch experience for everyone. We’ve also included answers to some frequently asked questions to help clarify details about the program. The Hot Lunch Program is the Parent Advisory Association (P.A.A.)’s main fundraiser. Funds raised directly support school-wide initiatives such as playground building and improvements, essential school equipment, and a variety of events and items that benefit all students throughout the year.

 Program Overview

  • Runs: October to mid-June
  • When: Every Thursday, except during holidays or PD Days
  • Note: Refunds are not issued for missed days (e.g., field trips). Please check your child’s class schedule in advance.
     

 Ordering & Deadlines  - When school is operating as usual

  • Menus are released quarterly, and each month has its own order deadline.
  • You may order monthly or quarterly.
  • Reminders about cutoff dates are sent regularly via:
    • School newsletters
    • The school calendar
    • HotLunches.net system
    • ÉHHS Facebook page
  • Important: There are no exceptions to order deadlines. Orders are submitted to vendors immediately.
     

 Weekly Reminders

  • Weekly menu reminders are sent out on Mondays.
    If you're not receiving them, log into your Hot Lunch account and ensure email notifications are enabled.
  • These reminders help confirm what you’ve ordered for your child.
     

 Account Setup (Required Every Fall)

To order, you must set up an account at the start of each school year:

  1. Visit: ehhs.hotlunches.net
  2. Click: "Click Here to Register"
  3. Enter Access Code: EHHSHL
  4. Complete the registration form
    (Be sure to include your email to receive reminders!)
  5. Click "Register Now"
  6. Add each child attending ÉHHS
  7. Start ordering by clicking on "Orders"

 Note: Registrations are deleted each summer to keep the system up to date. You must register again every fall.

 Payment Information

  • Please be advised of the following change to our ordering system, effective October 30, 2025:

All unpaid orders will be automatically cancelled after six (6) hours of non-payment. You are welcome to place a new order at any time; however, please note that the same six-hour payment window will apply.

  • All payments must be made online through the HotLunches.net system.
  • We accept:
    • Credit cards
    • Visa Debit
  • No cash or cheque payments will be accepted.
  • A 2.4% processing fee applies (processed through Bambora).
  • A $0.25 fee per order is added to help offset the cost of the online ordering system.

 Hot Lunch Day Procedures

  • Orders are sorted and delivered to classrooms by our Hot Lunch volunteers (if you would like to volunteer, please reach out to the Hot Lunch Coordinator at [email protected] for access to sign up)
  • Teachers distribute lunches to students. We appreciate their help with this!
  • Please note: Meals may not always be hot due to sorting and delivery times.

Helpful Tips for Lunch Day

  • Tell your child what you’ve ordered so they know what to expect. (Some families like to write it in the agenda or print out the order, cut and glue into the agenda)
  • If a mistake occurs, have your child tell their teacher immediately. Volunteers will do their best to correct it.
  • Unclaimed lunches (ie: student is away) will be either resold (funds go back to the program) or given to another student
  • If your child is sick or absent, you must make a note on Safe Arrival when entering your child's absences by 10:00 AM to have the lunch set aside for pickup. Late requests cannot be accommodated.  
  • Please note, lunches are set outside at 11:45am in a cooler out front for pick up. From a food safety perspective, please pick up your lunches PROMPTLY*

 Extra Meals

  • A limited number of extra meals are available for cash purchase at the Hot Lunch kitchen.
  • Sales begin 10 minutes after lunch starts to allow time for resolving any order issues.
  • Note: These are limited and not guaranteed—do not rely on this as your child’s primary lunch option.
